Rich's Department Store

"Atlanta Born, Atlanta Owned, Atlanta Managed." -Rich's Slogan, 1925

Mauritius Reich, a Hungarian Jew who arrived in Atlanta in 1867, founded M. Rich & Co. on Whitehall Street with a loan of $500. Over the next 100 years, the company would grow into the largest department store in the southeast and an institution that was vital to the Atlanta community.
